Astro-Storm

TRS-80 CoCo Specs

Description

Astro-Storm is a very simple homebrew arcade game written in BASIC. You are guiding a spaceship through an asteroid field and your goal is to reach the other side of the screen. Meteors of varying sizes move vertically in random patterns, while you fly horizontally across. You can move up, down and forward, but not backwards. In case of imminent collision, as a last resort you can form an energy field around you, but only for a limited number of times. Reaching the other end of the field will make you reappear at the beginning for another crossing and so on. Bonus lives can be found and picked up, as well as extra points represented by symbols. The game gradually leads you to higher difficulty levels as you build up points.
