Description
Monopoly for the Game.Com is an adaptation of the popular board game of real estate trading.
The game can be played by up to six players on one handheld. Up to five players can be CPU-controlled - each CPU player plays in a different style. There is also a head-to-head option for two human players via compete.com cable.
Some of the game rules are customizable. Standard rules like auctions, the even-build rule and transactions from jail can be turned off. Optional rules include double bonus when landing on Go, one required lap before buying, and the toggling of an infinite amount of buildings in the bank. A short game option has all players starting with the same amount of random properties.
During the actual game, the board is displayed from a top-down perspective. The center of the board is reserved for animations (which can be turned off): player tokens moving along the board, Rich Uncle Pennybags throwing the dice and events like landing in jail. The game is largely icon-controlled; the icons can be activated through the buttons or through touch input.
