Power Fail
Description
Power Fail is a fixed screen arcade game where you control an electrician who is trying to ensure a constant supply of electricity to the HudsonSoft headquarters so they can make software.
Units of power, represented by large faces, are supplied by a battery in the top left of the screen to a rectangular grid and move their way towards to the company in the bottom right. Random bad old men try to sabotage the grid by breaking connections. Power that tries to cross a broken connection is lost. You have two tools at your disposal. Firstly, a repair-kit will allow you to fix broken connections as you follow their route. Secondly, you have a hammer which will temporarily disable a bad man. The hammer can only be used once, after which another will appear somewhere else in the grid. Passing by a bad man without carrying the hammer will incapacitate you for a brief period of time, and if you had the repair kit, it would be teleported to a random location.
Once all the power has been drained from the battery, the level ends. If you were successful in supplying any power to HudsonSoft, you earn money for the software produced, and start again only with the power supplied from the previous round (although occasionally this is replenished). If all power is lost, then the game ends.
