Night Stalker
Description official descriptions
Robots, bats, and spiders chase you around a maze in Night Stalker, which boasts similar gameplay, if somewhat slower, to the arcade smash Berzerk. Players must pick up a gun that is randomly placed in the maze. The gun provides the player with a certain number of shots. Once depleted, the gun is again placed in a random part of the maze.

Maze game shooter with nice dark atmosphere.
The Good
When it came out it was a nice combination of a Pac-Man like maze and Berzerk shooting. There was some strategy involved in planning the best route to get your player into position to shoot the enemies. The background music sets the mood with a low rhythmic moaning that adds to the dark feeling of the game.
The Bad
The first levels are the slowest you will ever encounter in a maze game. But you will need the extra time as things get harder. The control pad makes turning corners such a chore. Almost all the time you get killed is while trying to round a corner to get away from the robot and you get shot.
These issues were not as much of a big deal when the game came out but since there are so many other games in the same category now they seem exaggerated.
The Bottom Line
You are exploring a dark mysterious cave. You have creatures to kill and creatures to avoid. Your only weapon is a gun and it only has six shots and you must find them as you use them up. Avoid the enemies that freeze your player for a few seconds because that is all it takes for the robot to get a bead on you and that is one more life down.
