Real Soccer 2012

Real Football 2012 is a 2D football (soccer) game and the follow-up to Real Football 2011. This JAVA version is different from the mobile version of the same name for Android and iOS, which is a 3D game with different features. It is also a premium game and not free-to-play with in-app purchases like the other version. There are further differences for the JAVA version itself based on the type of device. Lower resolution devices play the game in portrait mode with an isometric-like camera and using phone buttons, while for more high end devices with a larger resolution it is played in landscape mode, the pitch is displayed from an elevated side view and the entire game can be controlled through touch.

The game has licensed content and contains over 240 teams, both national teams and clubs from leagues, with the real player names. The main game modes are friendly games, the 2012 European Cup (the qualifier as well as the actual cup) and the RF League. Other game modes are Club Master (start with a team in a low division), Cup (play an international cup, a European cup or a club cup), Enter the Legend (focus on a single player and become one of the best of the world), Historical Challenges (replay 20 historical and iconic matches), League (play an entire season as a club or national team), Penalty Kicks, Training and World Tour (play against the best team around the world). There is an editor to edit team formations, starting players and the player names. The loading screens contain interactive quizzes with trivia questions.

Players are controlled using buttons or touch. They quickly switch roles to tackle or apply pressure, with different options to shoot and pass. Keeping an action such as passing or shooting pressed before releasing, builds a power meter to enable through passes and long distance shots. Using touch players can be tapped directly to pass. The active player selection is generally done automatically based on the nearest one. The game supports local multiplayer through Bluetooth.
