Ready, Set, Cook!

Ready, Set, Cook! is a cooperative cooking and serving game for two to four players playable on the Facebook Messenger Rooms platform. Players run different restaurants in two different themes in an attempt to reach enough score to get a three-star score. Customers will come in and seat themselves, but their orders will have to be taken, the food prepared and served out before they run out of patience and leave. The sooner customers are helped, the more points are awarded.

Cooking generally consists of multiple steps, such a cutting ingredients, baking or frying them, and combining them together. These actions are made harder by limited kitchen space and tools such as frying pan baskets that can be misplaced. Food can also burn after which it needs to be thrown away.

Different customers show different behaviors such as being impatient, ordering multiple rounds or groups wanting to be served all at the same time. The two themes play differently with a pizza theme that features more complex recipes and the combination of normal and take-out customers. The buffet theme has simpler dishes and customers that self-serve, but requires the players to keep full the chafing dishes containing multiple portions of food.
