Radical Entertainment was a game development studio located in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) and founded in 1991. Radical worked on titles such as Scarface: The World is Yours (the 8th title from Radical that has sold over 1 million units and the 4th title to ship over 2 million units), Crash Tag Team Racing, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and The Simpsons: Hit & Run. They continued to work on licensed properties, but later switched to original IP and developed the Prototype games.
In the early 2000s, the company also owned a division called 369 Interactive.
In 2007, Radical was selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and one of British Columbia’s Top 30 Employers.
In June 2012, parent company Activision Blizzard announced that all original development at the studio would cease, with some staff remaining to work on existing Activision projects. One cause of the closure, according to a statement by Activision, was the failure of Radical's Prototype IP to 'find a broad commercial audience'. The name Radical remained for team members contributing to Activision projects. In Destiny (2014), for instance, a group of programmers, designers and artists is credited as 'Activision: Radical'.
