Playfish was a development studio founded in 2007 by Kristian Segerstråle, Sebastien de Halleux, Sami Lababidi and Shukri Shammas. The company focused on web games, most of them available on the Facebook platform.
Playfish was headquartered in London, UK and had development studios in Beijing (China), Tromsø (Norway) and San Francisco (USA).
On 9th November 2009 Electronic Arts announced to have acquired the company.
On June 14, 2013, all Playfish games were taken offline and shortly afterwards Playfish studios were either shut down or merged into other EA structures.
