Visceral Games (Melbourne) was a development studio of Electronic Arts and it was based in Melbourne, Australia. It was part of the worldwide Visceral Games studios and contributed to titles such as Dante's Inferno and Dead Space 2. The studio was closed on 19th September 2011 and 21 developers were affected. EA commented that the studio was closed because there was no active project it could contribute to.
Gerry Sakkas, one of the designers, declined the offer to relocate to the USA. In December 2011 it was announced he founded the mobile development studio PlaySide with his former colleagues Aaron Pasias and Mark Goulopoulos.
