Overview edit · view history

Digic Pictures makes computer animations and special effects. It is a part of the Cinergi Interactive business group owned by the Hungarian born Hollywood producer, Andrew G. Vajna. Its goal is to produce projects that impress even the most prestigious professional forums bringing a good name to Digic Pictures and the world of the developing professional Hungarian computer animation. Its highest standards allowed Digic Pictures to be the first joining the blood circulation of Hollywood.

The history of Digic Pictures goes back to December 2001, when the first members of the later animation company, joined the software developer Black Hole Entertainment that was already member of Cinergi Interactive. Its task was to produce animation sequences for Armies of Exigo developed by Black Hole, competing with the bests. Along the way the team grew and advanced.

Their 3 minute project was completed by the beginning of 2003, and was the first Hungarian project ever to make it to the selection of Electronic Theatre, one of the most prestigious selection of the 2003 Siggraph festival / conference, that introduces the worlds leading computer animation projects. This was the event that the owner, Andy Vajna has noticed who at the time was occupied with the production of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. He gave the team a name: Digic Pictures, and after the success of their short film, an opportunity to show their talents making special effects. For starters, Digic was given 2 special effect shots out of Terminator 3. Upon success 58 more SFX shots followed. This was the birth to the creative lab of Digic Pictures, which specialized itself to create computer animation and special effects measured by the highest standards.
