Description

Game of Life is an implementation of Conway's Game of Life written for the IMSAI 8080 (clone of the Altair 8800) in BASIC E. The player can draw patterns and watch how they evolve based on the simple rules of Conway's Game of Life.

  • Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if caused by under-population.
  • Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives on to the next generation.
  • Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by overcrowding.
  • Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction.

The game is designed to play on a teletype, so the player can fill in the paper size at the start.
