Banshee
Description official description
A vertically-scrolling shoot 'em up from the old school, with similarities to games like 1942 and SWIV. There are lots of big, brash enemy vehicles to take on, plus individual soldiers (these often lie in a pool of blood afterward, a gruesome sight making full use of AGA graphics) and civilians. Many of the enemies have good hiding places and can emerge surprisingly, Commando-style.
There are four large levels, which also scroll a small amount horizontally, the idea being that you can evade some opposition. There's a special loop-the-loop type feature available, which can double as an attack or an evasive move.

Richard Loewenstein
Amiga Joker's review awarding the game 83% was written by Richard Loewenstein, who much later turned to coding with the Reshoot series of indie shooters for the Amiga. While discussing the games on the English Amiga Board he admitted that he personally dind't enjoy Banshee that much, noting that "I consider it to be very beautiful to look at. Did not enjoy playing it that much though, as the low 25 Hz framerate kills the fun for me." and explaining the score "was what I wrote in my position as a responsible reviewer. At those times reviewing games in a German magazine meant to check a the quality of the game from a as neutral as possible position. What I wrote about Banshee must not be mixed up with my personal opinion.
