Putty
Description
Putty is a platform game where the lead character is... a blob of putty. He has been expelled from Putty Moon by Dazzledaze the wizard and his assistant Dweezil the Cat. Your job is to lead the character round the platform levels making use of his special abilities to rescue and destroy.
When moving, Putty has a natural bounce, and his eyes are loosely attached, moving after his body after falls (as a visual effect). He has many moves available - he can stretch himself to traverse larger gaps between (or move up/down) platforms, unleash a long-range punch, explode (which works like a smart bomb, clearing the screen of enemies) or flatten himself into a puddle on the floor (to absorb anything that walks over him).

Trivia
Development
The game was in development for over 18 months. Early in development there was talk of an enhanced cartridge version for the Amiga, due to potential advantages such as a lack of piracy and much larger gameplay without the need for disk swapping, however the company ultimately concluded that the project would be too expensive to complete without other publishers collaborating on the development, resulting in an RRP around £60, around double what typical floppy-based games cost at the time. There was later talk of cartridge-based games for the A600's PCMCIA slot the following year, but no serious development work is known to have been done on this by any companies.
Inspiration
The lead designer of this game came up with the concept for it whilst attempting to "recharge his creative juices" on a trip through Africa.
A600 bundle
Originally the game was meant to be titled as Silly Putty and as such it existed until the moment of being released in October 1992. At this time it hadn't existed as a licensed product and its title was simplified just to Putty. System 3 also tied up a deal with Commodore to place Putty in a new A600 bundle pack. Mark Cale's wish of making Putty character an Amiga mascot to rival Sonic and Mario on other platforms could come true however, eventually, it didn't happen. (Retro Gamer 39, "The Making of... Putty")
Titles confusion
The game titled Putty was released on Amiga and SNES. However the SNES version was title as Super Putty and featured licensed music tracks. In February 1994 Amiga budget version of the game was released titled Silly Putty.
