Brad Mitchum: Lost in Time

Moby ID: 160587

Description

Brad Mitchum: Lost In Time is a Pang clone. Players take control of Brad Mitchum, an archaeologist who uncovered an ancient talisman with many gems that were rumored to have special powers.

Being extremely excited about his discovery, Brad went to the pub to celebrate. After having too many drinks and falling asleep under the stairs, Brad woke up to discover that all the gems had gone missing and the world was turned upside down. Brad sets out to get all the gems back.

Just like in Pang, the gameplay involves shooting metallic balls until they all disappear. Sometimes when the player shoots a ball, an item will appear to assist the player or the ball will break in two. If a ball hits Brad, his shield will act as health, protecting him until it is completely depleted.

The main differences to the game it was inspired by can be found in the story mode.

The story mode divides 5 worlds into stages. Brad starts out with a simple laser gun but, as the game goes on and the story unfolds through cinematic cutscenes, players will unlock stronger guns and turrets, as well as weapons with special effects. The Story Mode also adds a timer so if Brad doesn't destroy all the balls before the time runs out, he will have to start over.

The Pure mode is essentially an arcade style mode which substitutes all the original weapons Brad has access to for a hook.

The X-Trem mode is a special mode with combos and multiple weapon types already unlocked for those who want an extra challenge and access to everything from the start.

Both the Pure and the X-Trem modes lack the division into stages, with new balls forming in real time and the game lasting until Brad is defeated.
