Yes, it's childish, but it's nice

The Good
"Snoopy" is a game so simple it could even be called deceptively simple - it offers surprisingly much freedom for such a simple game. First of all, it has two possible solutions. (A little hint: you start solution A with catching a frog and solution B with typing a mail order for Charlie.) It's not impossible to do almost the both whole solutions and decide in the end which way to use to get the blanket. Nevertheless, it's not a long game. I really liked the graphics. The VGA version is still very simple for VGA - it hardly uses any colors above the EGA limit, yet the graphics look so nice, happy and "sunny" they remind you of your childhood, even if you happen to have spent yours in a grey communist city, not in a town like this.

The Bad
The game can be quite tiresome for owners of more modern computers - especially laptops without a numeric keypad. You can't use the "normal" cursor keys, the only keyboard combinations are either the numeric keypad or a relatively untypical set of letters (Z - left, X - right, G - jump, V - pick up/drop, plus Enter - do). The game map isn't big, but sometimes walking back and forth to get the objects can get irritating. Snoopy can move faster while jumping, however he can't jump while carrying one item, the umbrella.

The Bottom Line
It's not a great game, but it's nice enough to give it a try. Yes, it's childish, even very childish, but I suppose that if you play old games, you are already less than average afraid of being deemed childish...
