Astrododge
Description
In Astrododge, the player controls a spaceship trying to avoid asteroids as the screen scrolls vertically for as long as possible. The ship is equipped with no weapons at all, and the player has only one life. At every 100 points, words of encouragement are spoken (for consoles equipped with The Voice module only).
The game also features a secret hidden gameplay mode, internet highscore uploading and an online rewards system. To upload the highscore, players receive a code which must be entered at the developer's website. The online rewards work the same way, and there are four of them:
- [silver] Mad Skills - Score 1000 points
- [silver] I'm not an addict - Play Astrododge 50 times in one session
- [bronze] Detective - Discover secret gamemode
- [gold] Big dog! - Score 1000 points in secret mode

Twitch arcade with high level of difficulty
The Good
Excellent presentation with good graphics for an 8-bit system. The sound effects are good. Packaging and manual are also good. In every area except difficulty I would give it high ratings.
The Bad
There's one huge caveat: the difficulty level starts off brutally difficult and never lets up. I have put a couple of hours into playing into this cart and have reached a high score of a whopping 218 points - and that was a complete fluke. Most of my games end after about 60 or 90 points.
I just sat and forced myself to play another 30 minutes. High score? 179.
The Bottom Line
Way, way too difficult! Either there should be a skill level option, or Astrododge should start somewhat easier and then increase difficulty as you play.
Considering that this cart costs 35€ plus shipping, it is a frustrating experience.
