Overview edit · view history
GOG.com – originally an acronym for Good Old Games – is a digital distribution service with classic PC games, backed by CD Projekt. It operated under the Cyprus-based legal entity GOG Limited until the company was merged with GOG Poland Sp. z o.o. in November 2017.
The site launched in July 2008 and offers games of yesteryear for a low price and free from any copy protection. All games are DRM-free, compatible with current Windows systems and come with free bonus content like wallpapers, artworks, soundtracks and more.
GOG.com also features a community section that allows players to rate, review and discuss PC games, as well as articles from game journalists.
In 2012, they added support for Mac games and expanded to release more recent games as well. Their standards regarding DRM and bonus content remains unchanged, but because of their changed focus, GOG no longer stands for Good Old Games.
GOG.com offers a client option like Steam called GOG Galaxy.
