Epic Games Tools LLC, originally founded as RAD Game Tools in 1988, is a privately-held company based in Kirkland, Washington.

RAD develops game software technologies which are licensed primarily by video game companies, including video formats (Smacker, Bink and Bink 2), data compression tools (Oodle), Telemetry and 3D graphics toolset Granny 3D. As of 1995, they also have the Miles Sound System sound engine as part of their portfolio after acquiring Miles Design Inc..
